About it’s not just cake

I grew up wanting to be a Home Economist, dreaming of styling food for magazine’s and television advertising. I wrote to so many food stylists as a child, not one replied. I never became a Home Economist…

I went to Le Cordon Bleu, London when I left school and then worked as a chef in Scotland and London until a car accident took me out of the workplace for some time. Fast forward and I’m in advertising with a music production company and studio based in central London.

My passion for food has never gone away and the creative in me needed an outlet. That outlet is cake…

How it all started

It all started when my nephew requested and X Fighter cake for his birthday that had to include a stadium, with people, a kicker with X Fighters doing tricks in the air! Thankfully no one has a picture of that cake but he loved it.

It took another 10 years of making cakes for family and friends before a hobby made itself into what is now It’s Not Just Cake.

Why It’s Not Just Cake. Because it’s not just a cake is it… it’s always your centerpiece.
